Artemis, Australia’s First Diamond, Shares Her Journey to Abundance

When I first came to Young Living in September 1998, the last thing on my mind was to build a successful business. My opinion of network marketing was at an all-time low after past experiences. I was led to these beautiful essential oils for my own healing journey.

I’ve often said that Young Living as a business was “the best decision I never made”. It found me as it does for so many of us.

The power and efficacy of the oils inspired me, and I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. Friends and clients could hear my passion and the conviction in how I spoke about the oils, and wanted to order.

Rather than turning them away, I asked questions of my upline—my ‘help line’—and learned the procedures for registering people so that they could order directly from Young Living.

I never on-sold oils to my clients, and I’m so grateful I didn’t. With almost 2,800 people in my team today, that would have created an administrative nightmare. Instead, I let my clients know that my role was to help inspire and educate them about essential oils, and that Young Living’s role was to assist with the processing of orders.

I took my role seriously, and started learning all I could about the products. Nowadays, that means having a copy of the Essential Oils Desk Reference on hand, registering for the Essential Rewards [AutoShip] program (which gives access to monthly training CDs), using the products in my own life every single day, and attending every Young Living training event possible. I also use www.oil-testimonials.com to search for information on which products are best for my needs.

I began supporting others through:
  1. Conducting short playshops teaching about the power of our products. I did these even when I had very little knowledge by using the power of my own testimonials, what I was learning from the Essential Rewards [AutoShip] CDs, and the books I was reading.
  2. My regular Artemis’ oils bulletin, which shares my own and others’ testimonials on YL products. I found this was most successful when it was kept concise and sent out several times a week. The bulletins are a great way to communicate the power of YL oils, keeping them under people’s noses, and reminding them to turn here for help before they turn to other solutions.
  3. Developing one-day SpOIL Me events, where experienced therapists are invited to teach us how they use YL products in their practices.
  4. Teaching more in-depth classes in essential oils, including Raindrop Technique and Egyptian Emotional Clearing Technique.
The key to this support has been to build a sense of community within my team, based on enthusiasm and positive sharing. I keep my message simple: “The oils work”. I don’t dilute my message by teaching about products outside of the Young Living range, because I believe (as Gary Young does) that everything we need is available right here.

Above all else, I never stopped sharing and caring. I attribute my gentle persistence as a major key to my success. Young Living has been a part of my life for almost 11 years, and the rewards are there for me every day, personally, professionally, and financially.
